As requested, construction pics of the companion cube (see my scraps area for the original deviation).

First I gutted a cheap remote controlled car for some electronic parts. Then I created a wiring harness for the cube. The battery pack you see in the picture can be removed. To make the cube glow, you just plug in the pack and wait about a minute. The cube will glow for about 10 minutes before it needs another charge.

Then I cut out the Plexiglas pieces I needed. I attached the capacitors to one of the pieces and created a slot for the battery pack's plug. Then I assembled the Plexiglas into a box, making sure I attached the LEDs to each face (I lost this pic :( ).

After the box was complete, I coated it in thin sheet aluminum, leaving tracks for the lights. Then I covered the cube in model magic, which stuck straight to the aluminum.

The pic with my laptop gives you an idea of size. You can also see it in my living room, with the lights on, and then the lights off.

It's made from plexiglass or arcylic.

I would love one of these XD I'd have a go at making it myself but I have no experience with making stuff like this, from the electrics to the cube itself I'd just be clueless. The person who won the bid was very lucky XD
